Arena Blanca Reserve, located near Abra Patricia in northern Peru, offers a unique bird photography experience centred around carefully maintained feeding stations. The reserve is particularly known for its tinamou and wood-quail feeding stations, along with rail and crake feeding setups that provide rare close-range views of these secretive species. Hummingbird feeders attract a variety of cloud-forest species, complementing the reserve’s forest-edge and trail habitats. Often visited in conjunction with nearby Owlet Lodge and the Afluente area, Arena Blanca adds a distinctive ground-level feeding dimension to any northern Peru bird photography itinerary.
