Mývatn

Lake Mývatn in the north of Iceland was formed by a volcanic eruption, and the power of the earth's processes is highly visible around it. The area holds the Dimmuborgir lava field, the Námaskarð geothermal area, the Hverfell explosion crater and the Mývatn Nature Baths, with Goðafoss and the highland waterfalls of the Skjálfandafljót river within reach.
